Tabung Haji Director Charged With Khalwat
A State Tabung Haji director and a female employee pleaded not guilty in the lower Syariah Court in Balik Pulau yesterday to committing close proximity.
Rozimin Ahamed Kamil, 46, and Nor Hamiza Ahmad, 35, were charged with committing khalwat after being found together in a room on Tabung Haji's premises in a manner that could cause suspicion on Monday. They were released on a RM1,500 bail each in one surety.
Lower Syariah Court judge Mohamad Zaidi Abdullah fixed June 27 for mention of the case pending submissions.
Earlier, syariah prosecutor Mohammad Zulkhairi Aziz asked for a heavier bail of RM3,000 each to ensure their attendance in court but their counsel, Wan Faridulhadi Mohd Yusoff, pleaded for a lower amount, saying his clients had no past records.
Rozimin and Nor Hamiza were charged under Section 27(a) and (b) of the Syariah Criminal Enactmeny 1996 for close proximity. They made a dash for their cars through the back exit of the court building.
